ABOUT US
WHO ARE THE OREGON COAST ANGLERS?
The Oregon Coast Anglers are a group of like-minded anglers, who enjoy fishing and would like to improve fishing opportunity along the South Coast of Oregon now, and for future generations.
WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF OCA?
The objective of OCA is to unite Oregon South Coast anglers, and give them a voice in discussions with ODFW, Federal Agencies and Oregon Legislators.
HOW DID OCA GET STARTED?
Steve Godin, Founder and Current President of OCA, participated as a Stakeholder in the Umpqua Basin Coastal Management Plan development. During that process it became obvious that anglers were not well represented and the CMP resulted in some unnecessary fishing restrictions. The first efforts to organize were facilitated by the Coastal Conservation Association of Oregon and resulted in the South Coast Chapter. After a year of this association, we decided to break away from CCA Oregon to focus our efforts on south coast angling needs. In 2016 we started a relationship with Salmon for Oregon Association, Inc and became a DBA, Oregon Coast Anglers. This relationship has worked for us, and continues today.
