The Oregon Coast Anglers Christmas Trees for Salmon Project is underway again. This project is a collective effort, supported by the Town of Reedsport for allowing Christmas Trees to be dropped on city property, as well as Clemens Construction on their adjoining property. Les Schwab management lets OCA display drop location signs in their parking lot. OCA member Kevin Ladd stored the OCA sign since last February and recently installed it in the Les Schwab parking lot, and OCA supporter Lynnae Harris touched up the paint. OCA member Rick Rockholt sent out Press Releases announcing the OCA project. We will be collecting Christmas Trees until the end of January. Sometime in early February, the trees will be removed by OCA volunteers and with guidance from ODFW placed in tributaries to the Umpqua River. A notice will be sent to all members requesting assistance in removing the trees in February.
