I hope all OCA members and friends are in good health. I received my first Covid19 shot and will get the second one in another week. I’m hoping that the Covid infection rate reduces significantly in coming months, so that we can get together again. I miss our OCA meetings and opportunities to share information and outrageous fishing stories.

The PFMC has posted the three alternatives for the 2021 ocean salmon regulations. Follow this link; https://www.pcouncil.org/documents/2021/03/table-2-2021-recreational-management-alternatives-for-non-indian-ocean-salmon-fisheries-council-adopted-thursday-march-11-20211135-am.pdf/ to the PDF alternatives. Scroll down to pages 4, 5, and 6 to find the Cape Falcon South alternatives. These alternatives are available for public comments, which should be directed to Online Public Hearing on salmon management (OR) March 24, 2021 – Pacific Fishery Management Council (pcouncil.org), where a link will be posted. Alternative 1 provides the most fishing opportunity with a long season and an incredible 120,000 hatchery Coho Salmon (mark select) quota. Alternatives 2 and 3 restrict the Coho season and associated harvest, and eliminate Chinook Salmon harvest in the month of August (two weeks in Alternative 2) to conserve Klamath River fish. I would have preferred to see a reduction in harvest of Chinook to one fish per day. There will be an on-line meeting for Oregon anglers on March 24th at 7:00 PM. If you can’t attend the meeting, please send your comments, once the PFMC has posted the link.
