I hope this message finds you all in good health, and is a reminder that OCA will NOT meet on Thursday, April 2nd. Believe me I wish we could meet, there is much to discuss and I always look forward to sharing fishing tales.
I’ve made my comments to the Pacific Fishery Management Council regarding the 2020 ocean salmon regulations. Alternative A looks best for south coast anglers in the Central Zone. I asked them to extend the Marked Coho Select (clipped) season to August 23rd. You can still comment on the salmon regulations until April 2nd, here’s the link https://pfmc.psmfc.org/Meeting/Details/1383?agendaID=6326 and you would comment on section E1.
The boat launch ramps are open, but not without some effort by OCA members to keep them open. Please practice social distancing on the docks. Fishing partners should be limited to family members, who are practicing sheltering at home. With all the closures that we’ve seen, it’s quite possible the ramps could be closed, if they are deemed to be a threat to public health. So please do your part, and tell your friends.
I wish you good health and good fishing.
