This year ODFW restricted harvest of Spring Chinook on the main stem of the Umpqua River to hatchery fish only. This may be the first step in complete elimination of spring chinook fishing on the Umpqua River. Last year the Native Fish Society and others petitioned NOAA to ESA list Spring Chinook on most of Oregon’s rivers. NOAA just announced that they believe that the petition has merit and you have until June 12th for public comment. So I have copied the link for you to follow. I suggest that you read the information provided on NOAA’s link and comment. This may be your only opportunity to make your point. (copy and past link into your browser)
